The Historical Museum of South Florida brings the past history of the place to life. It endeavors to explore 10,000 years of history and culture and tries to create a better quality of life based on lessons from the past.

The Historical Museum boasts of a research center, a non- circulating library, a permanent gallery, as well as a special gallery for exhibitions. The museum's store offers a unique display of books on Florida and gift items.

The Museum's Research Center houses visual materials like architectural drawings and paper, refreshing views of Miami- Dade County and its environs and photographs of the late 19th century of south- east Florida.

The aim of the museum is to create a community which shares the knowledge of the past and works together to preserve the city's cultural heritage.

Museum hours: Monday – Sat: 10am - 5 pm; Each third Thursday: 10am – 9pm; Sunday: noon - 5 pm

Admission: - (free for Historical Museum members and children under 6). Sundays are contribution days.
