The Lowe Art Museum was established in 1950. An awe- inspiring collection of 13,000 objects reflects not only European and American art down the ages but also Asian and African art.

The collection in the Museum comprises of Native American art, Greco- Roman antiquities, Renaissance & Baroque Art, 19th century. American art, 17th – 19th century, European art, modern and contemporary art, art of Latin America, Asia and Africa, and photography.

The museum takes you back to the golden years of the Renaissance – with an exquisite collection including the Madonna and Child enthroned with Donors & Saints, the Annunciation and the journey to Bethlehem and an antique ornamentation.

The art of Asia comprises pottery, glaze, and presentation on slate which is one of its unique collections.

One can get a feel of Africa from the masks which are made of wood, feathers, pie needles and horn.
