The Miami Seaquarium owed its birth to the endeavors of Fred D. Coppock and Capt W. B. Gray who wanted to create a place where people could gain a first hand experience of ocean life. Located near the Bicayne Bay, it is at a walking distance from downtown, the port of Miami and the airport.

Visitors can enjoy exiting shows, great exhibits and educational presentation while strolling in the aesthetically landscaped park overlooking Biscayne Bay.

One of the prime attractions at the seaquarium is endangered species of the turtles. Visitors can get to see the killer whale, several species of Pacific dolphins, seals, sea lions and walruses as well as local Florida manatees. The seaquarium offers an insight into behavioral patterns of the Dolphins and other exotic animals by a two- hour training programme which is conducted by Marine Mammal Training Staff. The Miami seaquarium has taken the lead in the treatment of sick and wounded animals.
