The Origin of the Herald

The Miami Herald is a daily newspaper published in Miami and Broward and distributed in South Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean. The paper was previously awarded several Pulitzer Prizes since its first publication in 1903.

Dating back in September 15, 1903 when the first publication was made. It was then named The Miami Evening Record. The newspaper officially switched its name to Miami Herald in 1910. It maybe the most read newspaper in Miami but its not the oldest newspaper that has circulated in the area. It will be remembered that during the Real Estate Boom in Florida where it became the largest newspaper circulation. Since the newspaper is being distributed in Latin America, the first publication in Spanish language was only in 1976, under the name El Herald and later changed to El Nuevo Herald
