A visit to the Monkey Jungle is a unique experience in Florida where humans are caged while monkeys run wild. It originated way back in 1935 when Joseph DuMonds and his wife brought the first six monkeys to this 10- acre plot to observe them living in their natural habitat. The park is well- organized with three demonstrations, each highlighting one of the major areas of the park- the wild monkey swimming pool, the Orang- Utans, and the Amazon Rainforest.

Monkey Jungle is home to almost 400 primates and a variety of tropical exhibits. The uninhibited monkeys swing, chatter, and play their way into your heart.

Monkey Jungle and the Wings of Love Foundation, a non- profit organization, have created a sanctuary for captive parrots that can no longer be cared for by their owners. Exhibits at Monkey Jungle include "Hangin' with the Orangs" where you can watch a training session with the orangutans and the "Wild Monkey Swimming Pool" where some of the 30 species of monkeys like gibbons, spider monkeys etc. enjoy a leisurely swim.
