Larry and Penny Thompson Park

Larry and Penny Thompson Campground adjacent to the world- famous Metro Zoo consist of 270 acres of unspoiled natural South Florida woodland, bridle trails and hiking paths. You can frolic in the lap of nature without being deprived of modern amenities.

The Campground has 240 separate campsites for recreational vehicles, with full electrical and water hook- ups, four large restroom/laundry facilities with hot showers, a camp store and picnic shelters. A large freshwater lake with its own beach shimmers in the sunshine inviting you to take a dip. It is as the visitors boast 'an ideal inland swimming spot'. The Larry and Penny Thompson Park features three mammoth water slides carved into a rock mountain. Pets are welcome, but must be kept on a leash.
