It's difficult to feel the Yule spirit in Miami with its long days and lack of snow. But if you love Christmas with all its trappings, head for Santa's Enchanted Forest dubbed as the ‘world's largest Christmas theme park'. As Christmas approaches, Miami's Tropical Park becomes an enchanting winter fairy land. With an incredible 90- feet tall Christmas tree the park dwarfs while three million lights take you to a world of fantasy.
Half a million families visit every year to enjoy the fun. It boasts of a multitude of shows, themed displays, pony rides, a petting zoo and carnival rides. Don't forget to visit Santa and tell him about your Christmas wishes - children here can send a letter through the on- site post office, which delivers directly to the North Pole.
From traditional displays of Santa in his workshop to popular children's characters like the Power Puff Girls and Blue's Clues, the park offers something for everyone. Live shows include the Victor Flores Circus Thrill Show, Gifford and Roy Magic, the BMX Stunt and Thrill Show, Dondi the Elephant and the Amazing Juggling Show. Food tents offer traditional carnival- fair like candy apples and funnel cake as well as international cuisine from Greece, Mexico and Italy.
Santa's Enchanted Forest runs from November 9, 2005 - January 8, 2006. Hours of operation are from 5pm to midnight, seven days a week. Admissions to the carnival, including rides, are free with a ticket to the Christmas Park, which is .63 for adults, .02 for children.
