The Miami Metrorail operates on 22.4 miles of elevated track with 22 stations from Dadeland South to Palmetto. It provides 24 hours service. Trains arrive at each station every 5 minutes during peak hours. Weekend service runs every 20 minutes. Metrorail stations are about one- mile apart, providing easy access for bus riders, pedestrians, and passengers being dropped off and picked up. The metrorail runs through most areas of tourist interest, including Downtown Miami. Miami Beach and other barrier islands can be reached by bus. The Downtown Miami area is also served by a light rail system known as Metromover, which is free of charge. The Metromover system is the most efficient way to move around Downtown Miami. Currently, a large expansion of the Metrorail system is on the anvil, which will soon connect to Miami International Airport and many western suburbs. Free transfer is offered to the Metromover by using a special exit at the Government Center and Brickell stations. Change/token machines are available at all stations since no station agents exist.

All stations have automobile parking. Fare: .25 per person; station parking: Mon- Fri ; Sat- Sun Free.
